¡Hola!
I’m Alba, an artist, designer, and expressive arts coach based in Berlin.
For me, creativity is more than making art or “knowing how to draw”, it’s a way of seeing, feeling, and connecting. My work has always focused on bringing art closer to people, integrating it into everyday life, and turning it into something to be experienced rather than consumed.
I’ve always been drawn to the poetry of everyday life: the way light filters through a window, the rhythmic dance of the waves, the quiet choreography of strangers in a city. As a child, I found my refuge in art, among brushes and colours, where the world felt softer, and I felt more alive.
My journey
-
I always wanted to be an artist, so I moved to Bilbao to study Fine Arts at the University of the Basque Country. There, I discovered the freedom of interdisciplinary art: experimenting, exploring, and pushing boundaries. A semester in France deepened my fascination with urban aesthetics, and I became obsessed with taking art beyond galleries, bringing it into the streets as a shared and accessible experience. Inspired by Sonia Delaunay, Daniel Buren, and the great Basque sculptors, I sought ways to create art beyond the canvas and sterile exhibition spaces.
-
In 2018, I moved to Germany to pursue a Master’s in Design Research at Bauhaus Dessau. Immersed in the Bauhaus philosophy and surrounded by Berlin’s urban art culture, I explored co-creation in my research, Perspectives of Walking in Urban Art: Walking as a Tool for Co-Creation in Participatory Urban Art. Inspired by psychogeography and the Situationist movement, I developed methods for artists and communities to collaborate, turning urban aesthetics into a shared experience. Surrounded by peers from all over the world, I came to see creativity as a universal language, one that connects cultures and disciplines.
-
After graduating, I moved to Berlin and ended up in a job that, while creative, didn’t fulfill me. Feeling stuck and unsure of my next steps, I turned inward: I devoured books, explored personal growth, and searched for ways to reconnect with myself.
During that time, I traveled to Guatemala for a volunteer program, collaborating with local women on textile creation. The experience was incredible and transformative, I realized that my true calling wasn’t just to create, but to guide others in connecting with their own creativity.
Almost like magic, Expressive Arts Therapy appeared on my path, and I knew I had found the missing piece of my puzzle. This approach combines my love for art with my passion for guiding others on their own journey of self-discovery and growth.
Today, just as art once offered me refuge, I open my atelier as a space where others can explore, express themselves, and reconnect with their own creative voice.
Mis Values
-
Beyond career, achievements, the pressures of “success,” there is something deeper: our own well-being. I believe in choosing joy, in prioritizing inner peace, in crafting a life that feels good from the inside out. Creativity is not just a tool for making art; it is a path to happiness, a way to reconnect with what truly matters.
-
Art is not meant to exist in isolation; it is a bridge, a conversation, a shared experience. Creativity blossoms when it is exchanged, when stories intertwine, when hands and minds come together. I believe in creating art that invites participation, that welcomes others, and that belongs as much to the people as to the artist.
-
The world is open to our senses; we just need to slow down to pay attention. Aesthetics and beauty are not merely decoration, they are a language, a way of feeling and understanding the world we inhabit. I believe in embracing the inspiration our surroundings offer, allowing our senses to guide us toward wonder, emotion, and meaning.
-
True fulfillment is not found in perfection or external validation, but in presence, the ability to be fully here and now, completely immersed in the creative process. Curiosity, play, and experimentation open the door to discovery. A space for mistakes, for the unexpected, and for the pure joy of creating, free from judgment.
